Since our founding in 1997, the CVA has been a fixture in supporting the Brookwood Elementary School in VA. Beach, VA. The CVA has continued the relationship the USS America CV66 had with the school in a program call Partners in Learning. Volunteers from the ship would visit the school to work with the children. In 1997 the CVA sent volunteers to help with the children’s education. Then the CVA started to donate to special programs, supplies, merit scholarships and feeding less fortunate families of Brookwood at Thanksgiving.

At Holidays we ask former crew members of AMERICA to join in the giving. 100% of the money raised goes to purchase food, clothing and gifts for the children of Brookwood. In past years the CVA has put families of Brookwood children, who were homeless, into motels for the holidays.

This year as the years in the past we ask you to dig into your pockets and come up with a little cheer for these kids and their families.
